Joy has surface: Good news has recently surfaced in Canada's curling scene...

Canada’s curling scene received exciting news as Team Rachel Homan and Team Brad Gushue were announced to represent the nation at the upcoming 2024 Pan Continental Curling Championships in Lacombe, Alberta. Both teams earned their spots by winning the 2024 Scotties Tournament of Hearts and the 2024 Montana’s Brier, respectively.

The Pan Continental Championships, scheduled for October 27 to November 2, 2024, is a crucial event as it serves as a qualifier for the World Men’s and Women’s Curling Championships. While Team Gushue’s participation in the 2025 World Men’s Championship is secured since Canada is the host nation, they still need a strong finish to maintain their position in the top tier and avoid relegation. Team Homan must place in the top five to ensure Canada’s participation in the 2025 World Women’s Championship in South Korea.

This event is particularly significant for both teams. For Homan, this marks their debut at the Pan Continental Championships, and they are eager to make their mark. Gushue, who has already won gold at the previous two editions, is equally motivated to continue their winning streak on home soil. The Championships not only provide a platform for international competition but also showcase the strength of Canadian curling on the world stage
