Karachi, 9 April 2024: The National Women’s Selection Committee, chaired by Saleem Jaffar, named 16-member ODI and T20I teams against the West Indies women’s team. Five women cricketers have been called up to the white-ball squads.
The five T20Is will be played from 26 April to 3 May, while the three ODIs, which are a part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2022–25, will be played from 18 to 23 April. In Karachi, the National Bank Stadium will host all eight games.
Hitter-wickekeeper Sidra Nawaz (67 ODIs, 56 T20Is), who last played for the Pakistan women’s side in the September 2023 ODI series in Karachi against South Africa, has been called up for the series.
Four players have been called up for T20Is: Tuba Hassan (chosen in both teams) (1 ODI, 21 T20Is), Gull Feroza (2 T20Is), Rameen Shamim (3 ODIs, 4 T20Is), and Ayesha Zafar (29 ODIs, 20 T20Is). Gull Feroza last played for the Pakistan women’s side in the Twenty20 International format against Sri Lanka in 2022, Ayesha last played for Pakistan in the Twenty20 International format against South Africa in 2021, and Rameen last played in a Twenty20 International match against South Africa in 2019. Tuba last played in the T20I format against England in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2023. She made her ODI debut against Australia in 2023.
