Miles McBride, of the Knicks, Joins the Elite Club After His Raptors Performance
Point guard Miles McBride of the New York Knicks is probably unknown to many casual NBA viewers. However, people will begin to notice it as McBride has been developing into a formidable producer for the Knicks.
Earlier in the season, McBride’s role was inconsistent. He was buried behind Immanuel Quickley and Jalen Brunson as the third point guard. After Quickley left town as part of a trade between the Knicks and the Toronto Raptors, his position was expected to grow.
New York agreed to a three-year, $13 million contract with McBride in an effort to lock him into a long-term agreement. He’s surpassed that agreement with ease, elevating his game in the last few weeks.
Due to the Knicks’ lack of depth and the absence of numerous important players, McBride has become a crucial member of their starting lineup. Head coach Tom Thibodeau started McBride in place of OG Anunoby in an attempt to spice things up, and the results have been fantastic.

On Wednesday night, McBride played the finest game of his career against the Raptors. With nine 3-pointers made, he finished with 29 points, tying his career high. In 40 minutes, he also distributed seven assists to just one turnover.
He became just the second Knick in franchise history to record at least nine 3-pointers and seven assists in one game with that feat. Earlier this season, during his 50-point exhibition against the Phoenix Suns, Brunson became the first player to achieve this feat.
However, McBride’s performance was unique from Brunson’s in one respect. With just one turnover, it placed him in very exclusive company in NBA history. McBride is just the sixth player this century to have a 9/7 with fewer than two turnovers in a game, according to information posted by Tommy Beer on X.
McBride finds himself on a list that is populated with celebrities. Superstars Damian Lillard, Stephen Curry, LeBron James, Jayson Tatum, and Luka Doncic are among those he joins.
For McBride, to be included among those best players is undoubtedly an honour. It is even more remarkable that he accomplished this given where he began this season. He wasn’t even a part of the Knicks rotation a few months ago, but Thibodeau now has a hard time replacing him in games.
