The Miami Hurricanes benefit and lose from the Transfer Portal.
Henry Parrish, Jr., a running back for Miami, will go through the Transfer Portal, according to Gaby Urrutia of 247. Miami’s running back group will suffer a serious loss if Parrish’s departure is approved.
Here are Parrish’s 2023 running stats based on CFB Stats: Six touchdowns, 6.3 average, 625 yards, and 100 attempts. The 190-pound, 5-foot-10 running back would also provide a running back plenty of freedom to maneuver.
Mark Fletcher, Jr., a rising sophomore, is recovering from a difficult Lisfranc injury. The definition from Orthoinfo is as follows:
Fletcher may not be ready for fall camp or possibly for Miami’s opening game against Florida on August 31. Moreover, the damage frequently results in other injuries. It may be something like a break. Football players may attempt to recover from more complicated ailments than Fletcher’s Lisfranc injury, depending on the specific problem he is now dealing with.
Speaking of injuries, will TreVonte’ Citizen be prepared for a significant workload come fall? His build is similar to Fletcher’s. According to the Miami athletics page, he weighs 220 pounds and is 6-foot-1. However, Citizen has not had a lower body injury in two years.
Another Cane may see an increase in carries if Parrish departs. That would be Ajay Allen, the former running back for Nebraska. He can move quickly and shifty, and he has good open-field speed. In 2023, Allen’s stats include 361 yards gained on 70 runs, a 5.2 average, and 5 touchdowns.
Last but not least, the Canes have three more talented young running backs who might make up for Parrish, Fletcher, and Citizen’s losses. Jordan Lyle, Chris Wheatley-Humphrey, and Chris Johnson, Jr. all have an opportunity to have an instant impact.
