Following rumors of his trade on Saturday night, Justin Fields, the quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, sent a message to the Chiefs and Bears. Fields was traded by the Bears to the Steelers in exchange for a 2025 sixth-round pick.
The Pittsburgh Steelers got a steal for their QB
Depending on playing time, the sixth-round pick may move up to the fourth round. It’s unlikely that the Bears would get the fourth-round selection, though, considering that Fields will be Russell Wilson’s backup the following season.
Justin Fields sent a message to Chicago
Fields, a fourth-year quarterback, stated in his statement on Saturday that he is eager for his next experience even if he won’t be starting. Fields gave thanks to the Bears and the city of Chicago:
“I am really grateful to the city of Chicago for accepting and loving me. I am grateful to the whole Bears organization and ownership for giving me this chance to be a member of such a legendary team. Thank you, but, most of all, to all of my brothers with whom I played.
I tackled every day in the manner that I did because of you all. For all that you have meant to me for the past three years, through the highs and lows, I cannot express how much I appreciate it. I’m wishing you all the best of luck. Awaiting the upcoming chapter with excitement!
