When Jabrill Peppers announced his intention to enter the NFL draft on Tuesday, Jim Harbaugh bid farewell to a legendary Michigan Wolverine.
He received another on Wednesday, albeit this one was somewhat smaller.
John was born on Wednesday, and the Wolverines coach shared the news on Twitter, referring to the new baby as “our newest Wolverine teammate.” Sarah and John are married.
Harbaugh has seven children total; four of them are with Sarah. Jay, one of his children, coaches tight ends and special teams for the Michigan Wolverines, while the other is a student there.
John Harbaugh, the Baltimore Ravens’ head coach, approved of the naming decision in a tweet later on Wednesday. “Coach, congratulations! Fantastic choice of name.”
The baby John Harbaugh arrived around a month ahead of schedule, since Jim Harbaugh had stated late in the previous year that the projected birth date was in early February. However, the timing can be advantageous because this Thursday is the last cycle’s NCAA recruiting contact period.
All-American safety Peppers revealed on Tuesday that he is departing Ann Arbor and committing to the 2017 NFL draft, so Michigan will need to find some help.
The 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel declared on Saturday that he would not be attending the annual Heisman Trophy presentation unless the NCAA returned the trophy that was taken away from him after NCAA sanctions. Bush was a running back for USC.
“After careful thought and consideration I will be humbly removing myself from the Heisman trophy ceremony until @ReggieBush gets his trophy back,” Manziel said in a post on X. “It doesn’t align with my principles and beliefs that he can’t join us annually on that stage.” The Heisman Trophy goes to Reggie. It’s your turn to play the RIGHT thing, @NCAA.
