On Friday, Alabama football officially welcomed a new employee. Ever since he escorted newly appointed head coach Kalen DeBoer off the plane at Tuscaloosa National Airport the day UA chose Nick Saban’s replacement, Courtney Morgan has been the official moniker of the Crimson Tide’s general manager.
Morgan had worked with DeBoer at Washington in a similar capacity.
Morgan stated in a UA sports announcement announcing his employment, “I love working for Coach DeBoer and I am looking forward to continuing the standard that Alabama football has set.” “We all share the same objective as a staff, and we have faith in Coach DeBoer’s methodology for success. Success is mostly attributed to hard effort and trust, and I’m always prepared for work and have great faith in Coach DeBoer’s program-building methodology.
The announcement states that Morgan would be in charge of overseeing the roster as well as the daily activities of the personnel and recruitment departments. In addition to overseeing internal brand management, he will assist in planning DeBoer’s film reviews and prospect communications.
Prior to joining DeBoer’s Washington staff, Morgan, a graduate of Michigan, worked with the Wolverines during the 2021 season. At Fresno State, he began working for DeBoer.
“Courtney plays a crucial role in our program,” DeBoer stated in the press release. “He is a vital component of our efforts to find and assess talent at the high school level and in the transfer portal. He has excellent contacts around the nation. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to welcome Courtney to Tuscaloosa since he is a key component of our goals at Alabama.
