The Tennessee Vols could be getting a visit this spring from a Georgia Bulldogs legacy player.
Rivals.com recruiting analyst Adam Friedman noted this week that 2026 four-star linebacker Thomas Davis Jr will hit the road this spring for some visits. And Tennessee is “possibly” on his list of programs to check out.
“The Rivals250 linebacker is scheduled to visit Clemson on March 9 and is planning visits to Notre Dame, Ohio State, North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia Tech, NC State and possibly Tennessee,” wrote Friedman.
Davis Jr is the son of former Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Thomas Davis — a first round pick by the Carolina Panthers in the 2005 NFL Draft (Davis spent 16 seasons in the NFL and reached three Pro Bowls).
The elder Davis is from Georgia, but due to his time with the Panthers (he played in Carolina from 2005 to 2018), his family has been raised in the Charlotte area.
Davis Jr, 6-foot-2/205 lbs from Matthews, NC, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 3 linebacker in the nation and the No. 5 player in the state of North Carolina. He’s also rated as the No. 67 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.
The Vols aren’t currently one of the favorites for Davis Jr, but there’s still a long way to go in his recruitment. If Tennessee can get him on campus this spring, they could quickly become a major player for the Georgia legacy.
